Paul Lomheim
Originally from Saskatoon, Paul moved to Prince Albert in 1987. Paul has been at the Northern Lights Casino as the entertainment coordinator. Working with world class acts, such as Diamond Rio, Terri Clark, Ronnie Milsap, Loretta Lynn, Randy Bachman to name a few. Paul freelances organizing and producing shows for other organizations also. This will be Paul’s 17th year producing the Country North Show.
Brandon Baker
Born, and raised in Prince Albert, Brandon Baker has the heart of the prairies flowing through his blood and through his music. Though this folk artist now calls Edmonton home, his songs and poems take you back to where it all began. With an intimate writing style and an energetic performance, Brandon can easily shift genres from anything from Gypsy Jazz, to Funk/Blues/Rock styles. After spending time at Grant MacEwan University, he is now a full time musician, eager and anxious to make a name for himself all over the world. Fiddle styles have always been a part of Brandon's life. Being a relative of the "Master of the Metis Fiddle", Mr. John Arcand, Brandon's whole world is submersed in the fiddle culture for the summer months as he teaches at camps, attends fiddle contests and events. Brandon was accepted as a 1st-year student at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts, founded by the Estate of John Lennon and Sir Paul McCartney. Brandon's plans are to attend the school in September of 2010 but nothing is finalized yet. Brandon has one independently produced album under his belt titled "So This is Life...", and plans to release his 2nd album in the very near future. Who knows what will be in store in the future for this bright young man, but make sure you're along for the ride!
Shawn E. Blackman
An accomplished songwriter and performer, Shawn has been both a featured solo artist as well as a supporting musician for multi-award winning artists including Donny Parenteau, Jessica Robinson and Tim Toutant. Shawn was voted one of Western Canada's best unsigned songwriters by Canadian Campus Independent Review. He has performed across Canada at such venues as the Roger's Centre in Toronto, Tom Jackson’s Huron Carole, the Ness Creek Music Festival, Big Valley Jamboree, Saskatchewan County Music Awards, Canadian Country Music Awards, Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards and has live on CTV's Canada AM and CBC's News: Sunday.
Shawn has also joined the ranks of Paul Brandt and Donny Parenteau, to become one of three Canadian endorsees of McPherson Guitars, an amazing handmade acoustic guitar builder located in Sparta, Wisconsin.
Shawn practiced law in Saskatoon for a number of years and has recently moved back to his home town of Prince Albert where he continues the practice of law. Shawn said of move: "During my stay in Saskatoon, it never really felt like 'home'. Every time I drove back to Prince Albert to visit friends and family, the feeling of 'home' was overwhelming. Prince Albert has always been a fantastic, culturally vibrant city, a community of great people, great businesses, great opportunity, and a bright future, and I am very excited to be home!"
Sabrina Demyen
Sabrina Laine Demyen is a 19 year old country singer from Prince Albert. An avid performer, Sabrina performed all over Saskatchewan last year, including on the main stage at the Craven Country Jamboree and with the The Road Hammers at the Bengough Festival. This year is Sabrina’s 3rd year performing in her favourite “gig”, the Country North Show. Sabrina is putting the final touches on her first CD with producer Rich McFarlane, which will be released this year. 2010 is going to be an amazing year for this country beauty and she is thrilled she gets to start it off with the best show in town. Hope everyone enjoys the show as much as she does!
Kelsey Fitch
Kelsey is a country singer/songwriter out of Shellbrook Saskatchewan. She is 20 years old and has been singing since the age of five. She has loved country music since she was a child and idolizes Shania Twain. Kelsey has been in several competitions over the years which has helped her earn performance spots at many events including the Prince Albert Exhibition Grandstand, Telemiralce, the Prince Albert Winter Festival, Swan River Northwest Roundup, Casino Regina and Craven Country Jamboree. Kelsey also went to Toronto for Canadian Idol's Top 200 in 2008, which she found to be an amazing experience! In 2008 Kelsey also won the Gx94 Star Search and was able to get back into the recording studio. She teamed up with Donny Parenteau, Rich McFarlane, Al Leblanc, John Anaka and many more to put together a three song demo cd entitled "No Regrets". In the spring of 2009, Kelsey was nominated for "Rising Star" at the Saskatchewan Country Music Awards. This past December, she made her very first trip down to Nashville to do some writing for her full length album, which she hopes to record this year!
